Yesterday the Government issued updated guidelines in response to the spreading Covid-19 pandemic.
Following formal advice received this afternoon from the Presbyterian Church in Ireland, very regrettably all services, activities and other gatherings in Elmwood are now suspended until further notice.
While this is hugely disappointing and disruptive to all of us, it’s important to remember that the Church, globally and in Elmwood, is not suspended – we continue to worship and serve, albeit with a different look and feel for now.
Plans are well advanced to broadcast an act of worship which you can share in right there in your homes – we hope to do this each Sunday morning at the normal time (11.30) and we will give you more information about how you can access that before the weekend.
As a church we also want to support any of our members and neighbours in Ballymacash through this difficult crisis. We are making plans to help those who are ill, isolated and vulnerable. In the next few days we will share details about how you can access that support or be involved as part of a team of volunteers delivering it.
Please continue to look to the Sovereign Lord who is our Hope. Be active in prayer, diligent in protecting yourself and watchful in caring for those around you.
“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. …. as for me, it is good to be near God. I have made the Sovereign Lord my refuge; I will tell of all Your deeds”. (Psalm 73: 26&28)
God bless and keep you and those you love.
Andrew
